Love is Definitely Not Always on Time

Zakary Sandler and Alison Williams

2008, 04:10 minutes

TAPECODE 950.08

This piece is a collaboration between Brooklyn artist Joshua Sandler and South African artist Alison Williams. The video depicts the unraveling of one person and the entanglement of another, as an attempt at love evolves into a colossal misconnection. One person strives for a rational approach while the other is driven by raw passion. Time exposes the vulnerability of their love, compressing and clarifying it, making it the food of their manias. The result is like a car crash in slow motion; the impact slow and the sound a long deep tremor. In their situation Love is the Cheese, and time is the Trap.
