My Favorite Jokes

In My Favorite Jokes van de Geer improvises the role of myself while doing a stand-up routine based on a list of my favorite jokes, mostly crude and insensitive. Van de Geer’s inability to deliver a punch-line makes the performance both hilarious and incredibly painful. This experimental self-portrait uses the conventions of the one-man show to examine how an individual’s subjectivity is re-enacted by another person.

My Favorite Jokes is one in a series of videos entitled Impostor: A Self-Portrait (326.07), in which Lendrum and van de Geer collaborate.
