Soaring with Dogs

Eleven minutes of video, captured on a road trip through Canada in 1998, serve as inspiration and foundation for Soaring with Dogs. The aim of the project is to keep these dogs alive for the artist’s lifetime, to continually explore the symbolic value that accrues to animals in human relationships, values and cultures by perpetually inventing new video compositions in which to situate them.

”This current rendition of Soaring With Dogs (2008) is a work of quiet comfort; the dogs play on a shore, their antics overlaid with penciled commentary. The dogs are imagined at play in the clouds, in a landscape seen from the air.” - Peggy Gale
