This website was created for an exhibition entitled <PAUSE> by Montreal based curator Valerie Lamontagne. The piece takes as it’s beginning the pause symbol, two standing vertical lines. This suggests the two screens which play video and flash clips in parallel creating a visual tension or comparison. The images shift as you clip on one side or the other but always retain some kind of relationship; visual or conceptual, to the companion clip. The piece brings into play a range of imagery and ideas from the World Trade Attacks, the moon walk, Godard’s 1+1 film of the Rolling Stones, Chaplin’s The Great Dictator, Kubrick’s 2001.
