In the Deep Blue Sea is a collaborative video project conducted between Lisa Lipton and Rob Shedden in the summer of 2008 through The Anchor Archive Residency Program in Halifax, NS. It serves to investigate visual representations often associated with Maritime culture. In personifying the Atlantic Ocean and the tall ship, we salvage and make authoritative these over-commodified representations of Maritime culture. Here, many members of the artist community in Halifax came together to enliven symbolism and tell a briny tale.
