Situations is a random assemblage of moments in time since the 70’s through to 2012. It doesn’t pretend to give a historical view because it proposes a non-linear historical presentation of events. The work is presented in three synchronized HD screen video projections. Situations is more than a chronological representation of past decades, it is composed of a flow of multiplicities and of an aggregate of intensities.

Situations focuses on the social, culturally diverse, conceptual, political and aesthetic spaces that I have inhabited in Toronto since the late 1970’s. It explores issues concerning how time flows from past to present. It also exposes the analogies and dissemblance created by this passing of time and how individually and socially we carry the past within ourselves. It clearly explores the feeling that things change so fast that we forget the past, and at the same time we reiterate that things have not changed at all.
