During airport processing, an unexpected moment arrives. The harmony of voices paralyzes the reasons for order. / SAMOA is a video that was inspired by the earthquake and tsunami that rocked the Samoan Islands on September 29, 2009. After the disaster, many islanders travelled through Australia while visiting family members. I had been in Sydney for two months and on the day of my departure; I encountered a gathering of Samoans at the airport. As they stood in chorus to sing good-bye, the beauty of their voices overwhelmed my sense of movement. The notes literally stopped me in my tracks.
