untitled part 5: all is not lost but some things may have been misplaced along the way (or) of endings and beginnings and some points in-between

TAPECODE 018.11

Over the summer of 2007 Salloum made four trips to Kelowna to do videotaping sessions with members of the Westbank First Nation and other First Nation residents of the area. He worked in collaboration during much of the time with Chad Paul & with the assistance of Roxanne Lindley, both Syilx/Okanagan residents of the Westbank lands. The tape focuses on trajectories and contentions of relationships - with the land: private and band development/land use/stewardship, medicines/foods; race, representation, identity, and knowledge; the legacies of contact; oral histories and sites of significance; cultural adaptation and survival; moving forward; and the complexities of reconciling traditional values with contemporary daily life within this specific geographic and social nexus at this moment in time.
