This video lecture is a satirical portrayal of the importance of Donna Haraway's ideas about the cyborg and situated knowledge. The female character giving the lecture is simultaneously offering far-fetched theories and theories that ring true so the viewer is aware that the lecturer is using their privileged status as educator to share biased and untrue ideas which Donna Haraway critiques. The video in being so transparent validates the importance of having situated knowledge to understand concepts in the realm of science on a deeper level of being simultaneously aware of the limitations of a human being offering knowledge in that it contains biases, but that the act of offering ideas can be still educative and expand a person’s understanding of the world around them as long as the viewer or learner is always aware of the source of information cannot provide the whole truth, only a perspective.

The Monolithic Evolution: A Cyborg Solution Lecture took place in August 2013.
