...because Superglue is forever

Johan Grimonprez

2011, 12:00 minutes, colour, English with Dutch subtitles

TAPECODE 101.08

As a study into the history of happy endings, ...because Superglue is forever is based on a casting session in Los Angeles in which children play-act love scenes from films, ads and YouTube clips. The happy endings at the heart of this film provide an ironical sketch of our overconsumption of images. Reality and fiction, re-enactment and archival footage, triviality, and the meaning of life in a media-saturated world, is filtered by a new generation gobbling down both happy and unhappy endings.
This film was conceived as a pilot for the feature
How to Rewind Your Dog? in development with zap-o-matik.
