L'Arche Toronto's latest initiative Sol Express is a multi-disciplinary theatre and creative arts group made up of people with intellectual disabilities. This arts group provides an opportunity for individuals with intellectual disabilities to share their talents, experiences and stories through creative expression. Sol Express members learn from professionals as well as take leadership roles in conducting theatre arts workshops, seminars and presentations to various community groups. Led by Artistic Director, Cheryl Zinyk, Sol Express currently consists of 6 dynamic individuals who work with other professionals in the arts community to create and produce original works. These works include theatre, mask-making, story-telling and other disciplines. The size of the group allows for intensive training and meaningful exploration of social issues through the arts.
