Kathleen Maitland-Carter

Maitland-Carter has directed and produced a number of short documentary and experimental narrative films and videos. Her films have been screened at numerous public events at cinemas and international festivals, notably: the London Film Festival, the Festival International du Nouveau Cinema in Montreal, the Festival Internazionale Giovani in Italy and Mediawave Festival in Hungary, to name a few. She was a producer on a special edition of CBC Newsworld’s "counterSPIN" on the subject of civilian casualties in Afghanistan as well as working as a Senior Producer on the regular series of "counterSPIN" –Canada’s national public er, the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation’s flagship political debate and current affairs show .She has also written and segment produced for several CBC shows, including: On the Arts and Fashion File –which is internationally broadcast to over 200 million viewers worldwide. Her films, videos and excerpts of her work have been shown on the BBC, City TV, MTV Europe, PBS, WTN, ZDF, Off-line U.S.A cable network and in international video magazines Decoder (Italy) and Small Planet (U.K).
