Visual Brains is a unit formed by Sei Kazama & Hatsune Ohtsu in 1981. Sei Kazama was born in 1956 in Tokyo, Japan. He graduated from the Chuo University Department of Literature French Literature Studies. He is a professor of Meisei University Department of informatics. He had a Ph.D. at Nihon University. (ART)

Hatsune Ohtsu was born in 1956 in Tokyo, Japan. She graduated from the Bunka Gakuin College Department of Architecture. She is a professor of Tokyo Polytechnic University Department of Art.

They have created art works mainly with movies. While presenting works that made use of multi-media, they handled various movie productions as program directors. Their style, satirizing how modern society is affected by media, has garnered critical acclaim around the world.

They live and work in Tokyo. They are members of the Japan Society of Image Arts and Sciences.
