Carol Redmond

Carol Redmond received her M.F.A. from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 1991. Working primarily in video, she has consistently received support from funding sources in the U.S. and Canada. Her videography includes "Greetings From Blarney Castle", which experiments with story telling using 20 year old audio tapes recorded by her grandmother on a trip to Ireland and "Union" in which her mother describes operating an artificial kidney machine on which her husband depended for life. Ms. Redmond is currently working on "Teeth", a scripted mockumentary which presents a cast of characters telling stories about their personal experiences with dentistry. Her work has been screened publicly in galleries, art centres and at the college level. She currently coordinates curriculum enrichment and arts programming for the Oriental Institute Museum and participates in the Illinois Arts Council's Arts in Education program as a residency artist.
