Barb Taylor’s animation work has focused on the development of women and girl friendly visions – from the mythical The Sheelagh to the grrl powered Tomboy. Her animated film Tomboy received the CBC Canadian Reflections Award and the Inside Out Up and Coming Toronto Filmmaker Award. Tomboy screenings include the Chicago International Children's Festival, Miami Short Film Festival, Regent Park Film Festival (Toronto) and the London Lesbian and Gay Film Festival (UK), among others. Her first film, The Sheelagh, brought historic stone carvings to life through animation. Barb completed a new animated short about children, a dinosaur and peace, called Peaceosaurus in 2011.
