Video art exhibit compelling but botched
The Globe and Mail, May 3, 1980
This article is a review of a series of video installations at the AGO. Video art is describeD, at this early point, as being pecularly magicial, and a sort of sorcery. This is especially true with narrative based video art. Some of the most compelling tapes in the show, however, did lack both magic and narrative but were still successful. The AGO made viewing the tapes very difficult because the show was set up poorly and scheduled badly. This is unfortunate because the videos shown were very important works.
