The proposal explains the need for a new non-stereotyped television program, Nunavut, due to the problematic nature of previous productions created under Western assumptions. The basis is on the differences between Inuit and European storytelling tradition and methodology, the implications of the Inuit oral tradition as opposed to Western literary practices, and the fundamental Inuit belief in cooperation and forces of Nature as main narrative subjects, counter to Western culture's focus on conflict and expression of passionate emotion.
