Letters: Government and the arts

by Gerard Creurer, Helen A. Dahlstrom and Bill Haslam

Maclean's, Jan. 3, 1983, v. 96, no. 1, p. 5

These are three letters written to Maclean's magazine, by its readers, about a controversial story they covered. The story was about the Federal Cultural Review Committee and whether the government should finance the arts. This issue began when artist Kim Tomczak's installation "caused controversy and raised the question of whether certain artist run centres should be funded by the government without changing their programming."
