Guillermo Gomez-Pena's work focuses on tensions between Latino and Anglo Americans.

Gomez-Pena is a Mexican-born performance artist who uses monologues recited in a mix English and Spanish to represent the confusion that plagues the immigrant experiences. He also utilizes costumes and at times demands his audience separates themselves by race and linguistic abilities to depict the adversity that immigrants face in their new country.
