Smear Campaign offers memories
Calgary Herald, July 18, 1991, p. 5
This is a somewhat positive review of the artwork Smear Campaign, a performance by Michael Milo and Mathew (DMZ) Di Castri. It consists of juxtaposing of theatre, live songs and a video collage.
The piece consists of various television and news footage spliced together to create a hyperactive montage, with performers in masks making satirical political speeches. It is an attempt to comment on media culture and the Gulf War.
