A overview of the politics and aesthetics of early video art. Starting in the year 1965 when video equipment arrived in the the US, disenfranchised minorities were able to gain access to the production of images. The availability of this equipment was not only localized in large metropolises but regionalized throughout the entire country. Since 1965 video artists and documentarists have been able to document the lives of the everyday person.
