As part of the Queer Looking/ Queer Acting: Lesbian and Gay Vernacular (11 Oct. - 16 Nov. 1997), MacSwain catalogues the history of video art in Halifax, starting with the new cultural climate in the wake of the 1967 Centennial Celebrations and World's Fair in Montreal. He includes a filmography listing various films produced in Halifax that contain overt lesbian or gay content, deal with issues of sexuality and gender and/or were produced by artists who have openly identified themselves as lesbian, gay or Queer.
