Artist's request on hold

by Staff Reporter

The Province, Feb. 26, 1984, p. 11

A brief update on Paul Wong's legal battle to continue exhibition of Confused/Sexual Views according to schedule after Vancouver Art Gallery director Luke Rombout's cancellation of its screening. Written by an unidentified "staff reporter" at The Province, the article states that Rombout did not consider the Wong's 30 videotaped interviews about sexuality to be art and was worried they may alienate new gallery members. Meanwhile, Wong's defence lawyer Marvin Storrow was asked by Justice Kenneth Meredith to prepare a more detailed statement of defence for hearings to resume the following day.
