Keith Sonnier At The Modern

In this article Kenneth Baker discusses a video work by artist Keith Sonnier exhibited in the Museum of Modern Art in 1971. For this piece the artist has divided a gallery into two separate sections: the first contains a recording video camera which feeds into a active projector running in the second room. In the article Baker analyzes the experience viewing and participating in this work within the context of modernist painting and tries to identify the meaning behind this new found medium.
