Takahashi recalls Vera Frenkel's exhibition ...From the Transit Bar, exhibited at the Power Plant in 1994-5. The exhibit "introduced formal and thematic elements that encouraged patrons to stop their own physical movement through the gallery". The exhibit constructed an actual bar, a piano and video work interspersed, highlighting a nature of travel, immigration, displacement, and communication. The Transit Bar encouraged a community of travelers to enjoy the space and speak to each other, listening to one another's stories.
