Artropolis features the work of over 200 artists in British Columbia. The exhibition is divided into 7 components: Urban Renewal, Performance, Self-Image: By the Artist, As the Artist, Vox Populi, Les Enfants Terrible, Video, and Music.

On the exhibition:

"Artropolis is a collaboration initiated by members of artist-run centres and realized under the auspices of the Vancouver Artists League. It intends: to provide local exposure and a large audience for British Columbia's cultural producers; to challenge the constituents of city and provice to a re-examination of their ideas about the state of art; to thus provoke a reaffirmation by the community of current practice and production: and to create an undeniable broad public call for increased and direct support from municipal and provincial coffers to artists, to artist-run centres, and to the critics, curators, writers, publishers, et alii, who provide for a full, productive cultural context" (4).
