Afterimage, Nov. 1994, v. 22, no. 4, pp. 4-5
Ann Kaneko reviews the 40th Annual Robert Flaherty Seminar, which consists of two programs showcasing films, videos, and video installations. L. Somi Roy curates the main program which features Asian and Asian American work, while Erik Barnouw and Patricia Zimmermann collaborated on the retrospective program. Kaneko writes that "[i]nstead of complementing or contextualizing each other, these two programs seemed to polarize generations and perspectives regarding documentary." (4)
