Wilderness as Reentrant Form: Thoughts on the Future of Electronic Art and Nature
Leonardo, 1988, v. 21, no. 4, pp. 377-382
This article assumes electronic representations of the natural environment not only can help give humanity a greater awareness of the complexity of the non-human world but can also contribute towards alleviating the problems posed by recreation overuse of the wilderness. From this position, the author argues for institutional encouragement of technologically sophisticated artists working towards this possibility.
