Beyond History is disturbing and powerful show by Indian artists

by Regina Hackett

Seattle Post Intelligencer, May 31, 1989

A review of the exhibition Beyond History which features the work of ten artists with native Canadian ancestry. In this exhibition, the Native artists delivered a politically fueled message: Native cultural products are consumed by the same North Americans who deny and denigrate their culture. The artworks exhibited are ephemeral and therefore uncollectible, this prevents the commercialization of Native culture.
