Akimbo published a blog post in conjunction with Cookie Brunel’s solo exhibition "Every Worm Deserves a Mansion" which was on display at The New Gallery in Calgary. The post profiles Brunel’s work and interests and relates that “their stories speak of similarities between non-binary gender, particle-wave duality, and carabiners.”

In five sections, Brunel details some of their influences and considerations related to the exhibition titled: Electrical signal; Intersectional scientific theory; Magic Real-ish; and Adults who still have a favourite animal.

The exhibition ran from 6 March to 19 April, 2020 at The New Gallery in Calgary but was affected by the gallery shutdown during the COVID-19 Pandemic.
