Placing The Talent

Cherie Moses

1985, 05:00 minutes, colour, English

TAPECODE 208.00

The intention of Placing the Talent is to present a situation which shows physical as well as psychological manipulation. The tape deconstructs the idealized image of fashion modelling, photographic modelling, etc. It functions as an allegory for the confinment of the female within a culturally determined "image". The tape shows a single model being directed into positions at a rapid pace by four different directors whose voices are heard successively throughout the tape.
