Inspiré des légendes inuit du Grand Nord canadien et des "chants de gorge" typiques de cette culture, ce film nous plonge dans un monde magique et mystérieux. Une prémonition pousse une Inuk à sauver un poisson que son mari s'apprête à tuer. Mais une vision terrifiante met la femme en présence d'esprits maléfiques appelés Tunnituarruit. Elle tombe malade, puis meurt. Son mari et sa fille l'enterrent près d'une rivière. Mais peu de temps après, ils constatent la disparition du corps. Ils ne tardent pas à comprendre que la mère s'est métamorphosée en poisson. Une histoire étrange qui révèle au spectateur un aspect privilégié du monde fascinant de la culture inuk.

Inspired by the Inuit legends of Northern Canada and featuring the peculiar "throat song" typical of their culture, this film immerses one in a magical and mysterious world. A premonition compels an Inuit woman to rescue a fish that her husband is preparing to kill. After a terrifying vision in which she encounters malevolent spirits called
Tunnituarruit, the woman falls ill and soon dies. She is buried near a river by her husband and daughter, but some time later, they discover that her body has disappeared. They soon realize that the woman has metamorphosed into a fish. A strange tale which offers the spectator a privileged glimpse into the fascinating world of Inuk culture.
