Bone, Gut Got Fornotten is the first in a trilogy of videotapes by Christian Morrison which addresses the darkness and brutality of the contemporary world. From a collision of childhood memories and contemporary events Morrison constructs an allegory of hatred and sorrow.

"I have addressed aspects of urban violence and my relationship to it by juxtaposing a song by Karl Michael Belman, a Swedish rococo poet (18th century), with images of the landscapes and my own battered face during my performance of the song.

The videotape was inspired by the violent beating and murder of a gay highschool teacher in a park near my home. The senselessness of the act and the sheer brutality of it caused me to reflect upon incidents in my own experience, the homophobia I was forced to live with growing up in rural Ontario." -C.M.
