Diabolic Wife is a comical, satirical poem about male dominance. Compelled by his lust for a woman, a devil creates a fragmented wife by juxtaposing various parts of animals on her, oblivious to all but his own carnal needs. The devil symbolizes a typical male chauvinistic pig. The “wife” represents the generally subordinate position of women in society at large. Diabolic Wife is more a foray into dynamic storytelling than it is a sombre social commentary, and has won awards at animation festivals.
