Resist is an experimental and personal video art work. By searching through journal entries, the subject's struggle to communicate and cope is exposed. The viewer intrusively watches a dark and seemingly private setting, focused intensely on hands turning pages filled with written text.
Time is manipulated by speeding up and slowing down both the visual and audio components of the video. This accents the anxious surges of emotion as the subject reads and searches through the pages which are illegible to the viewer. Frustration continues to build until she is unable to resist destroying her own recorded thoughts.
