Keeping On Top Of The Top Song
1973, 17:00 minutes, B&W, English
Keeping On Top Of The Top Song was originally mounted as a performance in 1970 and later reproduced as a videotape. A drummer hired from the Musician's Union is asked to accompany without rehearsal a pre-recorded tape. The tape is a recording of the first ten seconds of the top ten songs of the previous ten years and the performer is instructed to play continuously along with the music, always searching for a point of reference which will allow him to play without changing his rhythm.
