This tape is dedicated to the memory of my father who died in 1992.
Rural young people who see little return on the enormous personal investment required to survive on the land are moving to urban centres where the opportunities are greater. This situation is having a direct effect on rural block settlements which form the cornerstones of pioneer life in western Canada and is not conducive to the retention of Ukrainian ethnic identity.
