The National Association of Friendship Centers and Health Canada has been working on an innovative way to teach Aboriginal children about various health issues that face our community today. It's a way to teach our children about smoking, substance abuse, hygiene and other health issues. This video is an introduction and facilitator's guide to an approach where children decide what the pressing health issues are. In Vancouver and Winnipeg children participating decided that cultural revitalization was to be the goal of their centres. Child to Child has a flexible approach that is child directed, activity based, fun and empowering for the participants. Used around the world since 1978, it directly benefits child participants, program deliverers, families, local professionals and the community at large.
