These video shorts were conceived and produced as part of a larger computer-integrated media installation entitled "On the Beam" which explores the multitudinous relationships between light, technology and everyday life.
Here we find the public light. Whether by the light of day, the spotlight or the video lights, they reflect the poetic light which promises to transform. The search light. What does it seek; what does it find? Through shapes it contrives to present itself. Project and projection. An address, like shadow puppets which light allows to express a story. An allegory emblematic of devotion, balance, relationship and presence. This is the illumination of the heart and the head. The spot light, the limelight, the light that hails us as ourselves transcendent, resplendent, colorful, divine and wanted, found and thereby saved. The revelation of the grand and the fantastic which belies the pure beauty of the banal. It's 'The Real You' made evident through exquisite artifice. It is the constant longing of the soul to make contact, seeking a connection from the light at the other end of the tunnel.
