TAPECODE 3022.05

Youth Justice Committees have signalled a change in the way justice is dispensed in Alberta. Provincial Court Judges now have the option of referring young offenders' cases to Youth Justice Committees which are comprised of Elders and respected adults from the local community.

Through interviews with criminal justice system personnel, members of the Wabasca Youth Justice Committee and Native Counselling Services of Alberta staff, this video provides viewers with down to earth, practical information regarding what a Youth Justice Committee is and how it might benefit the community at large.
