J'aurais dit Glenn Gould

1984, 27:00 minutes, colour, English

TAPECODE 9367

This visual essay on style, half-fiction, half-documentary, seeks to capture the essence of Glenn Gould. I have always been more interested in Gould's radio documentaries than in his interpretations as a pianist. He had a keen understanding of modern technology, and he even referred to himself as a new philosopher of the recording concept. This work of sight and sound is interspersed with a radio interview with John Jessop, Gould's assistant-editor for his radio documentaries.
