1. Busking Permit 1
Duf/Cage staged her own busking performance where she questioned City Hall's obsession with regulating space, while she herself, obsessed about exercising her body for one half hour, at full speed and without a break, on an exercise bike.
2. Elephantiasis Ears: Pacific Centre Mall
Simone tests the limits of conduct within consumer utopia. The highlight of the performance occurs when security guards arrive to deal with this unwarranted "nude woman with large talking ears roaming about in the mall". The security guards stood watch over Simone's nude body for 30 minutes waiting for the police and an ambulance to arrive.
3. Elephantiasis Ears: Suspended Disbelief
The artist's body is hung from the ceiling and video documentation from the Pacific Mall intervention projects onto a canvass screen laying flat on the floor. Cage triggers phrases from the apparatus attached to her body. The audience is in effect sandwiched between two performances, from two different time periods that collapse into one, questioning the position of audience and performer as related to spectacle, voyeurism and the female body.
