'bloom/doom' is about release and suffocation. It is from a larger video installation piece, 'the BLOOM/DOOM project', which is made up of seven other single channel videos. In 'bloom/doom', these seven videos are transformed or simply merged as fragments of a distorted continuum. Repetitive and hallucinatory imageries and tempo, including repetitive sounds, recalls moments of horror, desire and isolation. It is relived, narrated, or purged out. However, release is never truly at hand and futility of both horror and hope is abated only for another hallucinatory vision to surface.
