Forbidden Children

1987, 30:00 minutes, colour

TAPECODE 9497

The daily life of an 11 year old Chilean, Patricio, and his family provides us with a window on the world of the children born since the military coup d'état in Chile in 1973.
These young people, who have not grown up with democracy and who were prime targets for the military regime, talk about their hopes and fears and their vision of society. The film also presents gripping accounts by victims of Chile's political, economic and social violence.
This film, produced with sensitivity and humour, is a useful aid for educators and solidarity organizations.
