I’ve always been interested in The Gnostic Gospels, with their unusual twists on familiar stories. This short is a little riff on the character of Enoch, a contemporary of the Biblical Noah.

Enoch receives a premonition of disaster, so he sets out to collect as many books as he can find, to preserve the knowledge of the world. But his premonition is less than completehe doesn’t know that the disaster will be a Flood; he doesn't know what form the destruction will take. And so, lacking reliable divine guidance, all his careful preparations come down to a straight-ahead, all-or-nothing gamble....
