Inspired by the films of Arthur Lipsett, four weeks in January seeks to make sense out of home videos. Unlike Lipsett however, Sylvain Verstricht gets to re-shoot, so that the images create the meaning just as much as the meaning creates the images. The result is a video that deals with loneliness in the face of regret, aimlessness, reciprocity, fatalism and hope.
