My Mother lives in an elderly care facility in Calgary. There is a beautiful solarium located in the middle of the building. One day, I was sitting there looking at the plant life and the ceramic and stuffed animals placed throughout the garden, it brought me back to when I was a child and the intimate and imaginative possibilities that I could have found for each animal. Reminding me of England, the solarium took me back in time to the beautiful lush scenery and gardens of my youth. I would frequently find myself in worlds laced with awe and wonder within my imagination.

I decided to take photographs of the small stuffed and ceramic animals that I came across. Taking pictures of each from all angles. I also incorporated images of my daughter and her friend dancing throughout the animation. I thought of the world of possibilities that each character could play in a child’s mind and the different ways of seeing each.
