Psychology of Camera Presence

In the presence of a camera I split from my body, I see myself from the outside. My watching myself now on the video monitor symbolizes this state of split awareness. My objective in this piece is to disappear psychologically, to be aware only of my absence, not of my awareness of my awareness. I will do this by moving my body in a repetitive manner. I have used this device in past times of stress to make my mind go blank. I will move slowly out of camera range to symbolize the blanking process. The audience that is left is not a negative; it is a positive.
