Lost City Found
1979, 20:00 minutes, colour, English
While we were working on our statistics, it was brought to our attention that a tiny portion of our aerial maps was not in register. Since it was mandatory for us to survey all the terrain of the general vicinity, we immediately consulted our maps, charts, print-outs, radar patterns and telephone books – but to no avail. On each different source, a blur lay. Either the printing ink had faded, water had stuck the pages together, or someone before us had left a lit cigarette burning – it was all very mysterious. We decided that an expedition had to leave at once.
A voyage to and conjecture on the structure of a mysteriously abandoned contemporary civilization.
“A Cousteau-like documentary on a vast urban landscape which everybody has deserted for mysterious reasons.” - John Bentley Mays, The Globe & Mail, July 5, 1980
