Randy & Berenicci

1986, 10:00 minutes, colour, English

TAPECODE 860.09

From the audience’s vantage point on the 31st floor of a Vancouver office tower, video cameras equipped with telephoto lenses follow Randy & Berenicci through downtown traffic to an awaiting boat and out into the Vancouver harbour. There they hoist giant white letters overboard and set HISTORY adrift.

A poignant comedic shift on live television news coverage with walkie-talkie communication from the artists, colour commentary by Patrick Ready and a selection of melodies from the last moments of the Titanic played live and on site by a formal string quartet.
